Two minutes after I sat down, my sliver of non-blind-covered window was filled with a girl who had crumpled into an outdoor seat. It appeared as though she was crying, which was confirmed a moment later. I could hear her sobbing through the thick pane of glass.
For a moment, it looked like her sorrows were abating. Her phone rang. She took a quick glance at it, silenced the call, and broke down again.
Fifteen minutes later, she left. I didn't get any work done, since I was spending too much effort trying to avoid eye-contact.
